Frequently Asked Questions
Q. "Will the top drinking fountain shown fit on my current coolers?"
A. The upper most (top one) probably will not and is designed for pipes that are sticking up ("standpipe") or standard pipe nipples. The 3/8" head (second picture) will probably fit your cooler - please be certain that what you need is standard 3/8" female pipe threads before ordering this head from us.
Q. "What does the flexible guard on the bubbler do?"
A. These drinking fountain bubblers are equipped with a flexible guard to help prevent dental injury. The nonmetallic material flexes and helps keep users from chipping teeth, damaging gums and splitting lips. Drinking water safe bubblers fitted with a flexible guard are perfect for schools, parks, gyms, institutions, shopping centers, family fun centers, etc.
Q. "What are the new lead-free laws?"
A. The new lead-free laws require plumbing products that come into contact with drinking water to be essentially lead-free (0.25% weighted average). At the time of this writing, these laws have passed in California and Vermont, with stated intentions by other states to follow suit. In order for companies to ship these plumbing products to locations in California and Vermont, they must be ANSI certified lead-free. All Acorn Aqua drinking fountains and water coolers are compliant with the new lead-free laws.
Q. "I'm hearing a lot about lead-free these days. What does that have to do with plumbing products and how does the new lead-free legislation affect me?"
A. Basically, the laws implemented Jan. 1st, 2014 require plumbing products that come in contact with drinking water to be "essentially lead free" (less than 0.25% weighted average). For further information about how the law determines what is "lead free", rules regarding which plumbing products must be "lead free", and who these laws will affect, please view our page.
