Frequently Asked Questions

Q. "Can any of the Ariston/Bosch models be used on the hot side of the plumbing? My hot water heater takes a minute or two to reach several sinks, wasting time and water. I want to put a small tanked water heater in-line on the hot side."
A. Yes, any of the Ariston/Bosch models can be used for that application.

Q. "Do these heaters come with power cords?"
A. The two smaller models (ES2.5 and ES4) come with 120VAC plug-in power cords. The larger GL8Ti model is hardwired directly into your wall.

Q. "Do these water heaters have drain valves?"
A. No. These units are small enough to disconnect and drain into a sink if desired.

Q. "I am looking for 120V water heater I can install under my kitchen sink. I need one that will provide about one sink-full of hot water on demand. It currently takes about 60-80 seconds to get hot water to the sink. Will your undercounter water heaters work for me?"
A. The 2.5 gallon "should" work for your situation. It holds 2 1/2 gallons and when mixed with cold water provides you over 4 gallons of mixed warm water which is typically enough for most residential sinks. You can also connect your hot water line to the "cold" inlet of this heater, which allows you to have hot water for longer use when needed.

Q. "The Ariston/Bosch products specify the recovery rate - 'temp. rise' based on the GPH; what does this mean?"
A. The recovery rate is the amount of water that the heating source can raise the temperature 90 degrees in 1-hour. A 1500 watt element can raise 6.8 gallons of water 90°F in 1-hour; if you turned on a GL8Ti, 7-gallon water heater with 45°F water in it, it would take just over an hour to heat the water to 135°F.
