Q. "What's the difference between a child drinking fountain unit and a standard drinking fountain unit?"
A. The child drinking fountain unit is slightly smaller than the standard drinking fountain unit, therefore the mounting height is slightly lower, making it more accessible to children. As always, please check with your local codes to determine what heights are appropriate for your installation.

Q. "Please explain what you mean by gauge?"
A. The gauge (also sometimes noted as "gage" or "ga") is the measure of the thickness of the steel; the lower the number, the thicker the material.

Q. "What does it mean to have ANSI Certification for lead free plumbing products?"
A. Laws requiring plumbing products that come in to contact with drinking water to be essentially lead-free (0.25% weighted average) have been passed in California (AB 1953) and Vermont (193; S.152). In order for companies to ship these plumbing products to locations in CA and VT, they must be ANSI certified lead free. All Acorn Aqua drinking fountains and water coolers are compliant with new lead free laws.

Q. "What is Corterra®?"
A. Corterra® is a proprietary material manufactured by Acorn Engineering with a speckled, granite-like look. It is composed of cast polyester resin, aluminum trihydrate and fillers, and what makes this sturdy material unique is its incredibly smooth finish, stain and burn resistance, and the fact that minor surface damage can be repaired with fine grit abrasives or cleansers if needed.

Q. "What does 'ADA Compliant' mean?"
A. Complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 is a comprehensive civil rights act for people with disabilities. On July 26, 1990, the President signed the ADA into law as wide-ranging legislation intended to make American society more accessible to people with disabilities and to prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. The ADA was built primarily due to the desire of individuals with disabilities to work toward their goal of full participation in American society, and effects the ADA may have on businesses include restructuring or altering the layout of a building, modifying equipment, and removing barriers.
