"Will the top drinking fountain shown fit on my current coolers?" The upper most (top one) probably will not and is designed for pipes that are sticking up ("standpipe") or standard pipe nipples. The 3/8" head (second picture) will probably fit your cooler - please be certain that what you need is standard 3/8" female pipe threads before ordering this head from us. "What does the flexible guard on the bubbler do?" These drinking fountain bubblers are equipped with a flexible guard to help prevent dental injury. The nonmetallic material flexes and helps keep users from chipping teeth, damaging gums and splitting lips. Lead free bubblers fitted with a flexible guard are perfect for schools, parks, gyms, institutions, shopping centers, family fun centers, etc. "What are the new lead-free laws?" The new lead-free laws require plumbing products that come into contact with drinking water to be essentially lead-free (0.25% weighted average). These laws have passed in California and Vermont. In order for companies to ship these plumbing products to locations in California and Vermont, they must be ANSI certified lead-free.
