If you've ever been disturbed by drastic water temperature changes in the shower due to the flushing of a toilet, you would appreciate the features of a pressure balanced shower valve. Designed to keep the temperature constant (with a couple of degrees) by keeping the pressure the same between incoming hot and cold lines, preventing accidental scalding. Many building codes require anti scald valves, like this one, for new construction. This type of shower valve does not have a diverter, and so is used when no tub is present, or when the tub spout has an integral diverter. |
