"Can I run both hot and cold water to this unit?"
No; these units are single-supply only.
They can be plumbed with either all cold water or premixed warm water. For premixing, the hot- and cold-water sources would be installed with an anti-scald device that allows you to pre-set the temperature of the water. The premixed warm water is then supplied to the pool shower.
