A. A Scald-Guard^® is a shower valve feature that keeps you safe from dangerous water temperature fluctuations in the shower and bath. Fluctuations occur when a toilet is flushed or an appliance, such as a dishwasher is turned on when the shower is being used. When set correctly, the Scald-Guard^® valve keeps water temperatures within a ±3°F temperature.

Q. "What are screwdriver stop valves?"
A. Screwdriver stop valves are shut-off valves built-in on each side of the main control (volume/temperature control) valve. These stops are normally covered up by the finish trim escutcheon and used for servicing or changing the cartridge when needed. By closing these valves the main valve can be isolated without having to shut the entire main house water supply off.
