AWS Series Water Softeners
Meets California efficiency rating (4,000 grains/lb of salt) |
Fully automatic from start to finish, these highly efficient water softeners reduce unsightly soap curd, spotted glasses, and rings on tubs and sinks. Soft water washes away soap that hard water would leave behind, allowing your natural body oils to surface and moisturize your skin, reducing the need for costly lotions.
An electronic metered valve monitors water use and activates the regeneration cycle of the water softener only when needed based on your water consumption, saving you money on water and softener salt. High capacity resin comes standard with these water softeners requiring less salt and rinse water needed for regeneration than standard resin. Just one of the reasons they meet the California salt efficiency rating of at least 4000 grains per pound of salt used for regeneration.
For best water softener results, we suggest a water filter be installed before the inlet of any water softener to keep sediment from interfering with the internal parts of the control valve. A 20 or 30 micron water filter will adequately remove particles that could harm your water softener equipment. We offer Jumbo, large capacity, filter housings and filters to fit any water softener with 1", 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" piping inlets. |

| For those that live in the State of California and who plan on installing a water softener in California, California Assembly Bill 334 could affect restrictions on any brand of residential water softening. This passed bill has been the subject of much controversy in California. It is our understanding that it authorizes local California agencies to regulate the use and availability of self-regenerative water softening appliances that discharge to the community sewer system, effective January 1, 2004. Please be aware of the laws in California. It is up to those who buy and install a water softener destined for California, to check with your local authorities to see if water softeners (all brands, certified or not) are legal in your area. Crazy but true: just because these great softeners have been certified for the State of California, it still does not mean they may legally be installed in your area. |
| It is our understanding that in February 2003, the Los Angeles County Sanitation District, in conjunction with the Santa Clarita City Council, voted to ban installation of regular ("self-generating") water softeners. The area affected has been estimated to affect about 250,000 people. We have been told that they took this action because that Sanitation District was in violation of chloride wastewater standards of 100 mg/L. |
Did you know? Water softeners can cause your water heater anode rod
to corrode faster than normal, leading to premature water heater tank failure.
