Lighting Options Explained
Spot: Light comes from the circle near the bottom and doesn't take up as much mirror space as the halo light style. This style is great for shaving and uses a standard 25 watt bulb.

Halo: Light comes from around the edges. This style is great for applying makeup and uses a 40 watt bulb.

LED: Light comes from around the edges like the halo style but instead of a 40 watt bulb, uses 72 energy-saving LED's for a crisp, clear, energy saving light. This style mirror uses 5 watts less than the 40 watt halo style.

Unlighted: No electrical connections or plug-in power. This style is typically used when ambient/room light is adequate or electricity is unavailable.

frequently asked questions about baci mirrors

questions about body"What's the difference between spot lighted and halo lighted?"
answers about body Spot lighted (AKA wash-up light) mirrors are generally lower priced, provide a larger mirror surface, and cast less glare. Spot lighted mirrors shown on this page use a 25 watt bulb. Halo lighted (AKA rim light) mirrors are higher priced and reduce the reflective surface diameter by 1", but provide a brighter, broader, fuller light. Halo lighted mirrors shown on this page use a 40 watt bulb.

cord"What is the difference between hardwire & plug-in cords?"
cord Hardwire (AKA direct wire) mirrors are designed to be wired to a wall switch or a timer. Plug-in cords plug directly to a standard wall outlet.

lexan"What is Lexan?"
answers about lexan A type of tough, break-resistant plastic that is vacuum-formed over molds to create different body styles. Lexan provides great durability and easy cleaning.

Which Magnification should I choose"How do I know which magnification I should choose for my mirror?"
answers about lexan There are a few factors to consider when choosing a magnified mirror, such as the user's vision. Some may find if their vision is "less than perfect" they may require a stronger magnification, while others may be better suited with a lower magnification. In general, most people find a 3x magnification sufficient.

What can I expect"What can I expect when I receive my magnified mirror?"
answers about lexan Magnified mirrors are made using convex-shaped glass, which distorts and magnifies the image as needed depending on the strength of the magnification. For this reason, the mirror must be brought close to the user's face in order to obtain a focused reflection. Typically the user's face should be within a foot of the mirror. The more distance between the user and the mirror, the more the image will be distorted and indistinct. Likewise, the stronger the magnification of the mirror, more distortion will occur the farther away the user is from the mirror.

Proper mirror installation"If the mirror needs to be close to the user, how should the mirror be installed?"
answers about lexan Since the mirror must be close to the user's face in order to obtain a focused reflection, this generally becomes a plane equal to the edge of the counter. In other words, you want the mirror to come to the edge of the counter, not short of it which would cause you to have to lean forward to get a focused reflection. If the mirror is installed in a way that requires the user to lean forward to focus repeatedly, this may lead to bad posture. If the mirror will be mounted on the wall behind the counter, a double extension arm is necessary to make the reach from the wall to the counter edge. If the mirror will be mounted on a side-wall, a single arm style is generally sufficient. Mount the mirror so that when it is in use, it will come out to the edge of the counter and when not in use it will swing back and store flat on the wall.
