Q. "Can I keep my old stainless steel venting in place when I replace my water heater?"
A. No; code requirements typically state that existing water heater venting must be replaced with Category III stainless steel venting, which is corrosion resistant and gas tight, when installing a tankless water heater. This is because existing venting may not be sufficient for your new heater, or differences in manufacturer's connections may not allow the product to seal properly. Please note, condensing tankless water heaters also have the option of schedule 40 PVC venting.

Q. "Will this Noritz N-Vent stainless steel piping work with other brands of water heaters?"
A. To work with other brands of tankless water heaters, an appliance adapter must be used to connect the tankless water heater to Noritz N-Vent stainless steel vent piping. Choose the appliance adapter based on the size venting pipe you need.

Q. "Can I use this Noritz N-Vent stainless steel piping with other brands of stainless steel vent pipe?"
A. No. Noritz N-Vent stainless steel vent piping components, like most brands of stainless steel venting components, will not mix and match with other venting brands. It is best to use one brand of venting for your entire stainless steel venting run.

Q. "How do I know if I need a cold or warm weather vertical kit?"
A. Cold weather kits are designed for places that get snow, while the warm weather kits are designed for locations with milder winters. Always make sure that the top of the air intake pipe is above the snow line.
