Q. "What is 'Smart Thermo Control'?"
A. The "Smart Thermo Control" is a self-regulating, high-tech programmed temperature control. When it reaches the required temperature it reduces power consumption saving up to 35% of the energy, accordingly. The new technology eliminates the need for a thermostat, as the temperature rises evenly and stays constant once the temperature is reached. It is powered by an economical element, saving energy without sacrificing comfort. The Smart Thermo Control accepts power input from 75 to 250 vac and still maintains its design operating temperature, approximately 140°F, providing better temperature control using less power.

Q. "What is the difference between these electric and the hydronic models?"
A. Both electric and hydronic towel warmers are designed for in-home use. Electric towel warmers typically have very low energy consumption rates - many consume the same power as a standard light bulb (60 Watts). These models contain one of two types of low wattage elements: some use a dry element, while others use an element to heat mineral oil within the unit. Electric towel warmers are available as either hardwired or plug-in. Hardwired units will need to be integrated into the building's electrical system, while plug-in models simply plug in like any other appliance. Both types of electric towel warmers may be operated with an on/off switch or with a timer. Some of the larger electric units can provide enough heat to warm a room, though electric units are typically used in conjunction with another heat source to heat a room. Hydronic towel warmers simply utilize your hot water plumbing to produce heat by running the hot water through the towel warmer. This can be done one of two ways; by connecting to your home's hot water heater (open system), or to a specific hydronic heating system (closed system). In most cases the hydronic towel warmer is going to be the most efficient method (energy savings-wise) but can also be the most difficult for installation unless the installation is part of a complete remodel or new construction. Q. "What is the manufacturers warranty for these towel warmers?"
A. The Myson name is synonymous with quality, and they have given these items great warranties to back up their quality. The Pearl units come with a 2 year warranty. The Diamond units come with a 3 year warranty. All other units are covered by a 5 year warranty. Please note that all warranties are handled directly with the manufacturer.

Q. "Why does the Oil Rubbed Bronze generally cost less then Chrome?"
A. Oil Rubbed Bronze is a powdercoat finish whereas Chrome is a plated finish and is a longer process to plate the chrome and other finishes then to powdercoat them.

Q. "Which is better suited for home use, these electric models or the hydronic models?"
A. Both are for home use. Electric is easier to install and more easily turned on-and-off. Myson offers an optional wall timer - Myson part #STO1C. Hydronic is used when there is a recirculating system in the house, or there is a hot water boiler, or there is a steam boiler (a "closed loop" system is recommended to prevent electrolyses leaching failure which is induced by high mineral content induced by a recirculating system).

Q. "How come Myson looks almost the same as a different brand that costs less? In other words, is the extra money worth it?"
A. Unfortunately towel warmers are like cars. What car looks like a Mercedes, functions like a Mercedes but costs less than a Mercedes? Top quality costs more.

Q. "What does it mean when you say 'heat output up to 500 watts?"
A. The heat output is the rating for the electric element used in the towel warmer to heat the mineral oil. A unit that is rated at 500 watts uses an element that can heat the mineral oil at a static 500 watts of energy per hour.
