Don't be intimidated by the thought of installing your new wooden toilet seat! We'll walk you through these easy steps and you'll soon have an elegant addition to your bathroom.
Wooden Toilet Seat Installation
Tools needed: Adjustable Wrench
| Step 1: |
| Gather all the parts from the box. Your gorgeous new wood toilet seat will typically include pairs of threaded hinges, threaded bolt-shanks, plastic washers and plastic nuts. |
 |
| Step 2: |
| Begin by threading the bolt-shanks into the threaded portion of the hinges. Then slide the plastic washers over the bolts, onto the threaded portion of the hinges. |
 |
| Step 3: |
| Place the bolt-shanks through the bolt holes in the toilet. From the underside of the toilet, begin to hand-tighten the plastic nuts onto the bolt-shank. Then use an adjustable wrench to tighten the nut slightly. Be careful not to over tighten as you can damage your toilet, your new toilet seat or both! Typically, you'll only need to tighten the nut a quarter of a turn. |
 |
| Step 4: |
| Next, use a 1/2" socket wrench or adjustable wrench to tighten the nuts to the proper tightness. Notice that the nuts provided have two sections; the section on the bottom is designed to break off when the proper amount of torque is applied. These unique nuts make it so you can't over tighten the nut and damage your seat or toilet, if used properly. When tightening, place either style of wrench on the bottom portion of the nut only. |
