Yes. You must make sure there is no air in the water heater or the water line to the water heater. This will cause the element to burn up. To do this,
simply turn on the hot water faucet closest to the water heater. Run the water until you are sure there is no more air in the system. Then you should
be able to safely turn on power to the water heater.
