Low rates and easiest to calculate/understand shipping/handling for countertop water filters
"How often does the filter cartridge need to be replaced?"
We recommend that you replace your filters every six months or sooner if very poor water quality or heavy use. Carbon filters absorb chemicals like a sponge, and once saturated the carbon can no longer absorb any more chemicals and must be replaced. It is a good idea to order 1 set of replacement filters to keep on hand
"Will this filter remove bacteria?"
This filter will only reduce cryptospordium and giardia cysts. It is not intended for use on microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality.
"What does gpm mean?"
Gallons Per Minute. .5gpm is the maximum flow rate of the water filters.
"The .5 gpm flow rate seem low, why can't the rate be higher?"
Carbon filtration requires the water to be in contact with the carbon, the longer it is in contact with the carbon the greater the reduction of contaminants.
We hope that we have helped you on this page with water filtration systems,
and thank you for helping to make PlumbingSupply.com the most famous Internet plumbing supplier.
