Q. "Where are these faucets typically installed?"
A. These durable commercial restroom faucets are perfect for schools, parks, office buildings, hospitals or any public lavatories.
Q. "What tools will I need to install my new T&S Brass ChekPoint™ faucet?"
A. The manufacturer recommends but does not include, 8" adjustable wrench, 1/8" hex key wrench, basin wrench, 3/6" slotted screwdriver, #1 phillips head screwdriver and pliers.
Q. "How thick of a surface can these faucets be mounted too?"
A. These faucets can mount on surfaces up to 1" thick.
Q. "The product says that it comes with an AC/DC adapter and then also mentions battery life. Do I need both the AC/DC adapter and batteries to run the unit?"
A. The unit can be ran on either the AC/DC adapter or 4 "AA" batteries and does not require both. Please note that batteries are not included with the faucet but the batteries are very common and can be purchased locally from most stores.
Q. "Where are the external batteries mounted?"
A. The 4 "AA" batteries are contained within the faucet control module.
Q. "What is the adjustment range for the sensor distance?"
A. The sensor can be adjusted to work at as little as 3/4" away or up to 5 1/2" away.
Q. "What does the 'water shut-off delay' do?"
A. The water shut-off delay is the time period that the faucet will continue to run water for once an object is removed from the sensor range.
Q. "What is the auto time-out adjustment?"
A. The auto time out adjustment controls the amount of time the faucet will run for when it is turned on. The factory preset for the auto time-out adjustment is 10 seconds, but adjustments of 25 seconds, 45 seconds, 60 seconds, 3 minutes and 20 minutes are available.
Q. "What is 'Laminar flow'?"
A. Laminar flow is a smooth stream of water with little turbulence and is not prone to spattering.
Q. "What is the 'Power Saving Mode'?"
A. If the faucet's sensor has not detected any movement within the last 30 minutes it will change from scanning for movement every 0.4 seconds to scanning for movement every 1.4 seconds thereby reducing the amount of power consumed.
Q. "Can I operate the faucet without the electronic eye?"
A. The faucet can be operated manually by using the on/off switch. If you forget to turn the faucet off it will turn itself off after 60 seconds.
Q. "What does 'UL listed' mean?"
A. When something is UL-listed it means that the Underwriters Laboratories has tested the device, and it meets their requirements for safety when properly installed.
